Rhizome very short. Pseudobulbs close together, c. 4-leaved, 12 by 1.5 cm, consisting of several internodes. Leaf sheaths tubular. Leaves petiolate; petiole short cm long, grooved, angular; blade obliquely oblong, 14 by 6.5 cm, herbaceous, plicate, undulate, with c. 5 main nerves, apex acute, herbaceous. Inflorescences racemose, erect, 17 cm long; peduncle 6 cm long, 4-winged, laxly many-flowered. Floral bracts triangular, 0.35 cm long, apex acute, reflexed. Pedicel and ovary 0.8 cm long, 6-ribbed-winged. Flowers 0.85 cm wide. Median sepal lanceolate, 0.75 by 0.2 cm, strongly convex, apex obtuse. Lateral sepals narrowly oblong, falcate, 0.6 by 0.23 cm, margins recurved, held close together. Petals patent, ringent, narrowly linear, 0.7 by 0.05 cm, strongly convex, apex obtuse. Lip near the base curved downwards and with a transverse fold on either side, oblong, widened towards the apex, 0.6 by 0.4 cm, at the base with a small emarginate callus, apex emarginate, finely fringed. Column slender, curved, with longitudinal ribs, concave below, 0.35 cm long, rostellum very short, stigma small. Anther broadly ovate, broader than long. Colours: Flowers pale green, lip with two red-purple stripes.

Habitat: Terrestrial in lower montane forest.

Flowering time in the wild: Not known (recorded from cultivated specimen only).

Distribution: Malesia (Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, New Guinea).

Cultivation: Intermediate growing terrestrial, requires shaded position.
