Epiphyte, very slender. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs narrowly conical, 1-2 by 0.3-0.5 cm above the base. Leaf erect, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, glabrous, 4-7 by almost 0.8-1.5 cm in the middle; base weakly narrowed into a petiole. Inflorescence 1-flowered, 5-7 cm long, filiform, with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, many times shorter than the very slender pedicellate ovary. Flower erect. Sepals lanceolate, caudate-acuminate, glabrous except for the minutely ciliate margins, 1 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, lower margin only ciliate. Petals oblique, at the base broadly obovate, hardly 0.3 cm long; apical half abruptly narrowed and extended into an oblong, obtuse, ciliate lobe. Lip curved, fleshy, in outline lanceolate, caudate-acuminate, 0.7 cm long; underneath in basal half densely and minutely puberulous. Column short, glabrous; stelidia subulate; column-foot somewhat incurved. Anther helmet shaped-cucullate, papillose-puberulous; base cordate. Colours: Flowers red. Petals dark red spotted brown. Lip brownish with yellow apex.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: May.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
