Type: Kloss s.n. (Camp 6a, 3100 ft.) (holo BM)

Pseudobulbs close together, conical, 2 by 0.5 cm. Leaf subfalcate, lanceolate, subacute, coriaceous, 7 by 1.2 cm; the base narrowed; above sulcate; when dried pale green; midrib underneath raised; petiole grooved, 1 cm long. Inflorescence 9-10 cm long, slender; sheath situated near the base, 0.5 cm long. Floral bracts funnel-shaped, with a long tooth. Sepals lanceolate, acuminate, caudate, 1.7 by 0.2 cm. Median sepal narrow, 0.5 cm wide. Petals shorter than the column, obcuneate, retuse, truncate, very small. Lip fleshy, straight, tongue-shaped, obtuse, 0.3 cm long; base emarginate; claw short; callus transverse, rounded, lamelliform. Column very short, oblong, thick; stelidia short, linear-subulate, erect, long. Pedicel and ovary 0.5 cm long. (After Ridley, 1916)

Colours: Sepals with three red stripes. Lip yellowish.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 759 m.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
