Pseudobulbs close together, elongate-ovoid; apex somewhat constricted, c. 1.8-2 by 0.5-0.8 cm. Leaf petiolate, narrowly lanceolate, gradually acuminate, acute, thinly coriaceous, c. 8.25-8.5 by 0.95-1.45 cm; base gradually narrowed in a channelled, 3.5-4.5 cm long petiole; midrib above grooved, below keeled. Inflorescences from the base of the pseudobulbs, 1-flowered; peduncle filiform, c. 7.5 cm long; with c. 2 tubular small sheaths. Floral bract obtuse, apiculate, keeled, 0.48 cm long. Flowers rather large. Median sepal elliptic-lanceolate, acute, minutely papillose-finely ciliate, 5-nerved, c. 1.75 by almost 0.55 cm; base broadly clawed-contracted. Lateral sepals obliquely oblong-elliptic, subacute, concave, 5-nerved, c. 1.9 by 0.88 cm; margins in the top part incurved, margins in the lower part narrowly abruptly bent inwards, papillose-finely ciliate and inside the margin outside keeled; midrib slightly sigmoid. Petals obliquely spathulate, glabrous, 1-nerved, when not flattened 0.6 cm long, when flattened 0.84 by 0.46 cm; claw linear, fleshy, adnate to the column, 0.2 cm long; midrib wavy and inside channelled, dorsally keeled; blade strongly wavy, broadly obliquely angular-elliptic, abruptly triangular-acuminate, acute, apex reflexed; upper margin strongly recurved. Lip immobile, making a right angle with the column-foot, porrect, clawed, 3-nerved, c. 1.2 by 0.7 cm high; claw 0.23 cm long; lateral lobes erect, falcate-recurved, parallel, obliquely oblong, obtuse, convex, callus transverse recurved, rounded, dorsally flat, in front elongated in a conspicuously keel between lobules; blade ascending, deeply concave-saccate, in lateral view nearly semiorbicular, with broadly incurved margins; inside longitudinally keeled; apex extended in an at the base bent inwards, above tightly recurved, triangular-ligulate, subacute, in the basal part with thickened margins, with the apex angular-convex, glabrous, fleshy, 0.28 cm long appendage. Column including the anther 0.33 cm long, to the apex of the stelidia 0.6 cm long; apex wide, slightly notched; clinandrium on either side with a small lobule; stelidia elongate-filiform, wavy, with incurved apex; stigma longitudinal, oblong; column-foot making a straight angle with the ovary, oblong, apex free and obtusely angled, incurved, 0.18 cm long. Anther cucullate, elliptic-orbicular; apex extended in an oblong, obtuse, convex, finely warty, obtusely angled, recurved appendage; connective strongly crested-thickened, slightly over 0.1 cm long. Pollinia narrow. Ovary 6-grooved, slightly finely punctate, 0.3 cm long; pedicel c. 1.25 cm long, 0.25 cm above the base articulate. (After Smith, 1916)

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest.
