Rhizome short. Pseudobulbs close together, initially enclosed by tubular sheaths, elliptic, oblong, to cylindrical, longitudinally rugose-ribbed, c. 1-1.85 by 0.33-0.63 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf petiolate, oblong-elliptic to lanceolate, obtuse, very shortly obtusely apiculate, coriaceous, c. 3.6-6.25 by 1.6-1.3 cm; petiole channelled, c. 1.4-2.8 cm long; midrib above grooved, below keel-like. Inflorescences 1-flowered, fasciculate, many (to c. 18); peduncle filiform, c. 4.7-10 cm long, with a few small, tubular, keeled sheaths. Floral bract obliquely narrowly infundibuliform-tubular, laterally compressed, keeled, apiculate, 0.5-0.55 cm long. Median sepal oblong-ovate, gradually acuminate, subulate-apiculate, concave, 5-nerved, somewhat fleshy, c. 1.73. by 0.5 5 cm; base long and broadly clawed; dorsally convex; dorsally and inside especially below papillose, finely ciliate. Lateral sepals obliquely oblong-subovate-elliptic, long apiculate, concave, 5-nerved, somewhat fleshy, c. 1.87 by 0.7 cm; margins incurved, finely ciliate; on either side papillose. Petals very small, porrect, obliquely angular-ovate, 1-nerved, dorsally keeled, glabrous, 0.6 by 0.36 cm; facing margins in the basal part subcontiguous, concealing the column, strongly wavy; apex recurved; especially in the middle strongly concave; upper margin recurved; when flattened obliquely angular-ovate, base shortly clawed, apex obliquely triangular-extended. Lip immobile, porrect, making an obtuse, almost straight angle with the column-foot, glabrous, when not flattened c. 1.2 by almost 0.5 cm; claw narrow, fleshy, 0.25 cm long, above the base on either side with an erect, falcate-recurved, obliquely suboblong-triangular, obtuse, outside concave, inside convex lobule which is much shorter than the column; between the lobules with a transverse, basally truncate thickening, mesochile strongly excavate, obovate, slipper-shaped, 5-nerved, glabrous, 0.75 cm long; margins incurved; underneath deeply longitudinally grooved; inside strongly keeled, keel extended in a basal thickening of the claw; apex abruptly contracted in a porrect, sigmoid-wavy, oblong, at the apex contracted, subobtuse, at the margins thickened, channelled 0.3 cm long epichile. Column rather slender, 0.33 cm long; stigma longitudinal, oblong; stelidia very long filiform, porrect, parallel; column-foot making a right angle with the ovary, straight, 0.1 cm long, separated by a small, rather thick, transverse rib from the base of the lip. Anther cucullate, in outline rectangular, oblong; base quadrangular; extended in a recurved, quadrangular, slightly retuse, convex, finely ciliate, 0.08 cm long appendix; connective strongly convex-thickened, longitudinally oblong. Ovary slightly curved, 6-grooved, furfuraceous-punctate, 0.4 cm long; pedicel c. 1.35 cm long, 0.45 cm above the base articulate. (After Smith, 1916)
