Type: Ledermann 13080 (holo B, lost)

Pendulous, scarcely branched, elongated epiphyte. Stems somewhat compressed, to 60 cm long, very densely leafy, entirely covered with the tightly clasping, minutely warty leaf-sheaths. Leaves strongly patent, obliquely ovate-lanceolate, 3-4.5 by 1-1.4 cm, acute or subacute, glabrous. Floral head subglobose, 2.3-2.5 cm across, surrounded by semiorbicular, broadly obtuse or shortly acuminate sheaths. Floral bracts hyaline, elliptic-cucullate, almost as long as the ovary. Flowers glabrous. Sepals elliptic, 0.7 cm long, obtuse, lateral sepals oblique, base strongly concave, connate to above the middle. Petals obliquely oblong, obtuse, somewhat narrowed towards the base, almost as long as the sepals. Lip spurred, elliptic, markedly obtuse, blade thickened at the base, 03 cm long, spur slightly more than half as long as the blade, broadly obtuse, somewhat dorsally compressed. Column short, clinandrium dorsally obtusely tridentate. Ovary sessile, cylindrical, 0.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1922).

Colours: Flower white, lip with blood-red spots.

Habitat: Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1400-1500 m.

Flowering time in the wild: Not known

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
