Rhizome pendulous, branched, the top curved upwards, thin, c. 20 cm long, entirely covered with tubular, apiculate, papillose sheaths which soon become many-grooved. Roots sparsely appressed to the rhizome. Pseudobulbs very small, c. 1-1.7 cm apart, spirally arranged, making an acute angle with the rhizome, obliquely oblong, c. 9-ribbed, 0.45-0.55 by 0.2-0.25 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf lanceolate, gradually narrowed to the apex, short-acute, apiculate, coriaceous, c. 2.7-3.7 by 0.6-0.8 cm; base shortly cuneate-obtuse and very shortly conduplicate; midrib above channelled, on either side convex, underneath somewhat prominent. Inflorescences 1-flowered, from the nodes of the rhizome, solitary; peduncle appressed to the rhizome, short, 0.2-0.25 cm long, covered with few small, tubular sheaths which soon become many-grooved. Floral bract clasping and much exceeding the ovary, obtuse, 0.2 cm long; base tubular; above strongly concave. Flower patent, 0.63 cm long; the sepals parallel. Median sepal subulate, towards the base gradually dilated and concave, 0.54 by 0.14 cm at the base. Lateral sepals forming a short, obtuse-angled mentum, concave, gradually subulate-narrowed, 0.6 by 0.16 cm at the base; base obliquely triangular. Petals very small, parallel to the column, obliquely irregularly subelliptic-oblong, subacute, inside on either side of the midrib convex, 0.13 by 0.06 cm. Lip with a very small ligament inserted near the apex of the column-foot, mobile, small, curved, convex, ovate, obtuse; base truncate, when flattened 0.12 by 0.08 cm; basal part channelled, with convex sides; apex convex; inside with longitudinal fascia. Column very short, including the anther slightly over 0.05 cm long; stelidia short, obtuse; stigma triangular, decurrent along the column-foot; column-foot making an obtuse angle with the ovary, its base slightly swollen, its apex very shortly incurved, 0.1 cm long. Anther cucullate, curved, obtuse; connective crested, thickened, yellowish, 0.04 cm long. Pollinia 4, united in 2 subglobose bodies. Ovary rather thick, 6-grooved, 0.14 cm long. (After Smith, 1916)
