Epiphyte, very small. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs ovoid-conical, 0.5-0.7 by 0.3-0.4 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, oblanceolate-oblong, apiculate, 7-9 by 1.4-1.8 cm above the middle. Inflorescences 1-flowered, very short, 0.2-0.35 cm long, covered with peduncle-scales. Floral bracts apiculate, as long as the ovary. Flower not resupinated, small for the section. Sepals oblong, shortly acuminate, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, boat-shaped-connate. Petals obliquely broadly ovate, cuspidate-acuminate, glabrous, connate. Lip cuneate-obovate, very obtuse, 0.15 cm long; base shortly clawed, with 2 auricles; above the base thickened with trapezoid lines; margins except for the base minutely finely ciliate. Column short; stelidia triangular, obtuse; column-foot almost straight. Anther helmet shaped-cucullate, glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.08 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)

Colours: Flower dark purple. Sepals in the middle paler.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: September.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
