Rhizome creeping, terete, strongly rooting, entirely covered with tubular, subulate-acuminate, keeled sheaths. Pseudobulbs c. 1.2 cm apart, ovoid, obtuse, in cross-section elliptic, with obtuse angles, c. 1.9-2.4 by 1.1-1.5 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf elliptic-oblong, very shortly acutely acuminate; base rather abruptly contracted in a petiole and conduplicate; margins recurved; midrib above grooved, keeled below, fleshy-coriaceous, c. 9 by 4.2 cm; petiole c. 1.25 cm long. Inflorescences from the nodes of the rhizome, subfascicled, 1-flowered; peduncle filiform, c. 5-5.3 cm long, in the basal part with c. 3 small, tubular, acuminate, keeled sheaths. Floral bract tubular, acuminate, keeled, 0.4-0.66 cm long. . Sepals reflexed, dorsally sparsely and very minutely puncticulate. Median sepal above the base incurved, lanceolate, acute, concave; nerves 3 dorsally prominent, c. 1.75 by 0.43 cm, with conduplicate apex. Lateral sepals obliquely lanceolate, at the apex the margins incurved, shortly contracted, acute, except the base concave, the facing margins incurved, with 3 dorsally prominent nerves, c. 1.63-1.73 by 0.55 cm. Petals very small, divergent or widely patent, at the base obliquely ovate, acuminate, acute, convex, 1-nerved, 0.35 by 0.2 cm. Lip immobile, almost entirely flat; the lower quarter almost clawed-contracted, concave, 0.3 by 0.26 cm, the margins of the base lobulate-dilated, erect; blade elliptic, apex underneath extended in a stout, conical, obtuse, callus, underneath with a longitudinal groove; glabrous, in total 1.3 by 0.58 cm. Column curved, with broadly truncate apex, 0.38 cm long; clinandrium concave; stigma longitudinal, linear, narrowed towards the base, the facing margins triangular-subcallose-thickened, with truncate rostellum; stelidia slightly divergent, rather large, inside convex, obliquely quadrangular, subtruncate, bidentate, the upper tooth triangular, acute, shortly apiculate, the lower tooth recurved, obtuse; column-foot short, 0.08 cm long. Anther cucullate, laterally compressed; connective strongly convex-thickened; apex shortly rounded-triangular-elongated, 0.12 cm long. Ovary 6-grooved, finely punctate, 0.6-0.7 cm, long; pedicel c. 1.65-2.1 cm long, 0.35-0.5 cm above the base articulate. (After Smith, 1916)

Colours: Sepals violet with white margins. Lip orange.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest.
