Pseudobulbs close together, 1-leaved at apex, at the base with conduplicate cataphylls that are tubular at the base, to 5.5 cm long, the upper one often with a more or less well developed leaf blade. Leaf lanceolate-strap-shaped, narrowed at apex, unequally subacutely or subobtusely bidentate or hardly dentate at all, narrowed and conduplicate towards the base, midrib when dried grooved above, prominent below, 10-20 by 1.3-1.6 cm; sheath resembling a petiole, laterally flattened, 1-2 cm long. Inflorescence erect, laxly many-flowered, 13-24 cm long; peduncle 8.5-17 cm long; peduncle-scales 3-5, rather large, at the base tubular, dilated above, acuminate, tip acute, keeled, 1-1.5 cm long. Floral bracts clasping the ovary and equally long or often longer, ovate, acute, to 0.7 cm long, usually shorter. Flowers 0.25 cm wide, 0.53 cm long. Median sepal broadly ovate, subacute, concave, apex somewhat recurved, 1-nerved, 0.25 by 0.23 cm. Lateral sepals with free front margins, broadly obliquely triangular, apiculate, concave, keeled outside, 1-nerved, 0.28 by 0.35 cm. Petals broadly ovate-triangular, shortly obtuse-acuminate, concave, 1-nerved, 0.23 by 0.17 cm. Lip parallel to the column-foot, as long as the column, spurred; spathulate, conduplicate, somewhat recurved, claw cuneate, concave, 0.1 cm long, blade strongly dilated, transversely elliptic, shortly obtusely acuminate, inside near the base puberulous, 3-nerved, 0.2 by 0.27 cm; spur incurved, porrect, parallel to the blade, ellipsoid, rounded, 0.1 cm long, up to the base of the lip 0.15 cm long. Column short, 0.14 cm long, clinandrium concave, margin subcrenulate; rostellum porrect, very long, deeply bipartite, much overtopping the clinandrium; stigma transversely crescent-shaped, with raised lower margin; column-foot pointing backwards, appressed to the ovary, 0.25 cm long. Anther ovate-cordate, obtuse, connective swollen. Ovary 0.3 cm long; pedicel 0.13 cm long. (After Smith, 1909)

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest; 50 m.

Flowering time in the wild: July, August, October.
