Stem short; roots numerous, spreading in all directions, flattened, when dried to 33 cm long, 0.4 cm wide. Inflorescences very densely many-flowered; peduncle densely patent-muriculate, 8.5-10 cm long; peduncle-scales few, indistinctly muriculate; rachis short, long muriculate, 0.5-0.7 cm long. Floral bracts spirally arranged, triangular, acuminate, acute, concave, muriculate, fleshy, to 0.35 cm long. Flowers 1.2 cm long. Median sepal erect, oblong, obtuse, somewhat concave, dorsally at the base and apex sparsely muriculate and finely warty, 1-nerved, somewhat fleshy, slightly over 0.4 cm long, 0.13 cm wide. Lateral sepals widely patent, obliquely oblong, acute, in the apical part with somewhat irregular margins, lightly curved, somewhat concave, dorsally convex, in the apical part slightly keeled, sparsely muriculate and finely warty, somewhat fleshy, 1-nerved, 0.35 by 0.12 cm. Petals erect, with the front margins clasping the lip slightly, obliquely 5-angular-rhombic, 0.3 by 0.24 cm, obtuse, concave, in the basal part with irregular margins, glabrous, especially in the apical part somewhat fleshy, 3-nerved, with the outer nerves short. Lip spurred, weakly 3-lobed; blade surpassing the column, fleshy, concave, convex below, inside in the basal part deeply longitudinally channelled and on either side of the channel slightly thickened, when flattened transversely elliptic, triangular-produced at the apex (mid-lobe), 0.18 cm long, almost 0.25 cm wide; lateral lobes patent, broadly rounded; mid-lobe broadly triangular, at the base with a cavity, the apex callus-like, sharply recurved, obtuse; spur elongated, clavate, at the base appressed to the ovary, incurved, in upper 3/5 inflated, narrowed towards the apex, obtuse, slightly laterally flattened, to the apex of the ovary 0.73 cm long, near the apex 0.15 cm diam. Column short, broad, almost equally 3-lobed, 0.18 cm long, 0.17 cm wide; clinandrium deeply concave, transverse, at the back truncate and with slightly irregular margin; rostellum rather large, in front bipartite, dorsally long subulate; stigma very large, 2-lobed, the lobes outside convex, inside concave, with raised margins. Anther cucullate, 0.13 cm long, abruptly rostrate; beak long, linear, with recurved, obtuse apex; pollinia obovoid, stipe spathulate, with strongly incurved margins, at the apex conspicuously dilated, acutely bent and 2-lobed, at the base incurved, 0.1 cm long; viscidium elongated, linear-subulate, 0.1 cm long. Ovary pedicellate, slightly sigmoid, in the apical part densely, in the basal part sparsely long and patent-muriculate, 0.6 cm long. (After Smith, 1916)
