Epiphytic, erect, caespitose, 10-16 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, shortly villose. Stems erect, slender, terete, glabrous, at the base covered with large, lanceolate, cuspidate-acuminate sheaths, 1-leaved, 7-13 cm high, 1.5-2 mm across. Leaves erect, often slightly incurved, subulate, acute, up to 4 cm long, as wide as the stem, adaxially slightly sulcate. Inflorescences many, arranged into a capitulum, covered with several apiculate scales. Flowers very small. Bracts very small, hyaline, ovate, apiculate. Sepals oblong, obtuse, 0.4 cm long. Median sepal glabrous. Lateral sepals sparsely puberulous, at the base, front margin, at the base dilated and connate; mentum sac-like, subglobose, somewhat inflated, 0.1 cm across. Petals in basal part linear, obliquely lanceolate, acute, glabrous, a little shorter than the sepals. Lip tongue-shaped, obtuse, in front carnose-thickened, at the base somewhat narrowed, margins incurved, ciliolate, 0.4 cm long, with two parallel, puberulous lamellae, decurrent to the basal third. Column short, with the arms obliquely oblong, about half as long as the lip, glabrous; foot very short. Anther suborbicular-ovate, in front minutely apiculate, glabrous. Ovary subsessile, cylindrical, puberulous, about 0.2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914).
Colours: Flower dirty reddish with yellow lip.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest. Altitude 1000 m.
Flowering time in the wild: October.
