Epiphyte, erect, branched, up to 35 cm high; rhizome very short, roots filiform, elongated, glabrous; stems branched, somewhat compressed, leafy, entirely covered by the leaf-sheaths; leaves erect-patent, ligulate, apex obtuse and unequally bilobulate, at the base subpetiolate-narrowed, 3-5.5 cm long, below the middle 0.4-0.7 cm wide; sheaths closely appressed, apex truncate, shiny, striate, sometimes subrugulose, 1.5-2 cm long; capitulum nodding, semiglobose, initially covered with sheaths which eventually disappear; bracts very small, hyaline. Flowers glabrous. Median sepal broadly elliptic, obtuse, 0.4 cm long. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, obtuse, up to apical third connate, at the base cucullate-concave, as long as the median one. Petals obliquely elliptic, obtuse, somewhat smaller than the sepals. Lip broadly ovate, obtuse, glabrous; 0.2 cm long, at the base and near the middle 0.2 cm wide, spur subquadrate, broadly obtuse, as long and wide as the blade. Column short, glabrous, about a third as long as the lip. Anther broadly cucullate, obtusely umbonate, in front retuse, glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, almost 0.4 cm long. Colours: Flower white, lip apex blackish green; anther light brown with white humps.

Habitat: Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: May.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
