Terrestrial. Leaves at the base somewhat twisted, ovate-lanceolate, towards the apex narrowed, unequally narrowly obtuse, obtusely concave, convex below, fleshy, 3.5 cm long, 0.87 cm wide; sheaths tubular, in cross section elliptic, above somewhat rugulose and verruculose, at the apex with a short, broad, rounded tooth opposite the blade. Inflorescence capitate, nodding, rather many-flowered, dense, the involucral sheaths suborbicular, concave, 1.3 cm long. Floral bracts large, broad, orbicular-ovate, subacuminate, above often dentate, strongly concave, 3-nerved, 1.1 cm long, about 0.9 cm wide. Flowers medium-sized. Median sepal ovate-triangular, obtuse, apiculate, concave, 3-nerved, 0.74 cm .long, 0.4 cm wide. Lateral sepals connate, forming a backwards pointing sac that class the spur, obliquely triangular, acute, long verruculose-subulate-apiculate, 5-nerved, when flattened to the apex of the sac 1 cm long, each 1.17 cm wide, free part 0.5 cm long and wide. Petals rhombic-oblong, apex somewhat recurved, obtuse, 3-nerved, 0.63 cm long, 0.3 cm wide. Lip at the base adnate to the column, subentire, in total 0.6 cm long; blade in the basal part concave, at the base transversely thickened, when flattened broadly triangular, obtuse, obtusely apiculate, about 0.3 cm long, 0.57 cm wide; spur appressed to the ovary, saccate, broadly obtuse, in front convex, dorsally flat, to the apex of the ovary 0.4 cm long. Column somewhat curved, dorsally compressed, dilated above, 3-lobed, dorsally longitudinally grooved, 0.26 cm long and wide, median lobule of clinandrium broadly triangular, truncate, subcrenulate, lateral lobules (auricles) patent, obliquely subquadrangular, somewhat crenulate, lower margin with a tooth. Stigma and rostellum broad, broadly retuse, stalked, peltate, reniform-triangular with rounded angles, margin recurved, 0.24 cm wide. Ovary 6-grooved, 0.6 cm long. (After Smith, 1913)

Habitat: Terrestrial in upper montane forest in exposed positions. Altitude 3250 m.
