Epiphytic, patent, 30-40 cm long. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous, stems usually not flexuose, somewhat compressed, very densely leafy, entirely covered by the leaf-sheaths. Leaves erect-patent, oblong-ligulate, slightly narrowed towards the apex, very shortly bilobulate or obtuse, base rounded, 2.5-3.5 cm long, near the middle 8-1.2 cm wide; leaf-sheaths close-fitting, at the apex, on both sides produced into a linear, small tooth. Capitulum several-flowered, about 2 cm across, enveloped by several sheaths. Peduncles short, covered with a few imbricating scales, 1-flowered. Bract very small, apiculate, hyaline. Flowers erect. Sepals broadly elliptic, shortly apiculate, glabrous. Median sepal 5 mm long. Lateral sepals 6 mm long, somewhat decurrent at the base. Petals obliquely oblong, broadly obtuse, glabrous, a little shorter than the sepals. Lip 0.8 cm long, above the base 7.5 mm wide, in basal part subsaccate-cucullate, shortly ligulate-unguiculate, abruptly dilated into a broadly reniform, 4.5 mm long blade, apex emarginate, margin undulate-crenulate, glabrous, in front of the opening of the sac with an erect, transverse, about 0.2 cm wide lamella, of which the apex is shortly and obtusely bilobulate. Column next to the stigma on both sides with an obtuse, patent callosity, lower margin of the stigma thickened, basal part of the column abbreviated. Anther suborbicular, obtusely apiculate, densely covered with large, semiglobose warts. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, sessile, 0.7 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914).

Colours: Flower pure white, without a yellow spot on the lip.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest. Altitude 1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: March.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).

Cultivation: Warm-intermediate growing epiphyte, keep in light shade.
