Type: Schlechter 18571 (holo B, lost; iso AMES, BO, K, L)

Epiphyte, 13-25 cm high. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs 1-1.5 cm apart, narrowly conical, 1-1.5 by 0.4-0.6 cm above the base; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, elliptic-ligulate, apiculate, 10-25 by 1.6-2.7 cm near the middle; base narrowed into a petiole 5-8 cm long. Inflorescence 1-flowered, short, to 3.5 cm long, with a few peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, many times shorter than the very long pedicel. Flower erect. Sepals oblong, inside papillose-pilose. Median sepal sublanceolate, 1.8 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, apiculate, 2.2 cm long. Petals obliquely ovate-ligulate, subobtuse, 0.43 cm long; apical half muriculate-papillose. Lip somewhat incurved, fleshy, ovate, obtuse, glabrous, hardly as long as the petals; towards the base 2-ribbed. Column medium-sized, glabrous; stelidia subulate, subobtuse, almost reaching the apex of the lip. Anther oblongoid-cucullate, glabrous. Pedicel and ovary very long, glabrous, 6-9 cm long. Colours: Flower greenish, inside densely spotted brown. Column green.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1300-1800 m.

Flowering time in the wild: November, December.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
