Stems branched, slender, terete, 0.1 cm diam. Leaves shortly petiolate, almost subulate, narrowed towards the apex, obtuse, above on either side of the grooved midrib convex, fleshy, 0.5-1.5 cm long, 0.13-0.18 cm wide; sheath tubular, ribbed-veined, verrucose, not fimbriate. Inflorescence very short, 1-flowered. Floral bracts 2, convolute, clasping each other and the spur, inflated, obtuse, retuse, somewhat squamulose, membranous, 0.7 cm long. Flower medium-sized, 1 cm wide, widely opening. Median sepal oblong-obovate, obtuse, conical-apiculate, concave, at the base 3-nerved, 0.65 cm long, 0.28 cm wide. Lateral sepals falcate-oblong, obtuse, long conical-apiculate, at the base obliquely dilated, clasping the spur except its base, concave, at the base 3-nerved, 0.63 cm long, 0.25 cm wide. Petals oblong obovate, rounded, particularly the upper margin incurved, concave, 3-nerved, 0.63 cm long, 0.25 cm wide. Lip at the base adnate to the column, spurred, in total 0.55 cm long; spur appressed to the ovary, conical-cylindrical, obtuse, 0.28 cm long; blade clasping the column, cucullate, at the base abruptly thickened, apex papillose, indistinctly 3-lobed, lobes rounded, when flattened transversely elliptic-triangular, subrhombic, broadly obtuse, 0.3 cm long, 0.38 wide. Column in lower half adnate to the lip, curved, 0.23 cm long, clinandrium large, margin indistinctly dentate, auricles triangular. Anther cucullate, at the base truncate, apex recurved, rounded. Pollinia 4, obovoid. Rostellum large, porrect, bilobed. Stigma semiorbicular, lower margin elongated, recurved. Ovary 6-grooved 0.45 cm long. (After Smith, 1911)

Habitat: Terrestrial in upper montane forest in shaded positions. Altitude 1800-2577 m.
Flowering time in the wild: March, October.
