Type: Janowsky 616

Pseudobulbs closely spaced, 3-leaved, at the base with a few sheaths. Leaves petiolate, lanceolate, gradually long acuminate, acute, glabrous above, minutely puberulous below, with five main nerves that are prominent below, when dried firmly papyraceous, 19-32 by 3.8-5.7 cm; petiole channelled, nervose-ribbed, including the sheath 15-16 cm long. Inflorescences 2, erect, stout, much longer than the leaves, laxly many-flowered, peduncle puberulous, with a few small scales; rachis elongated, puberulous, 20-33 cm or more long. Floral bracts persistent, widely patent, lanceolate-triangular, gradually narrowed, concave, dorsally puberulous, 3-nerved, with two very short additional nerves, to 1.4 cm long, 0.33 cm wide. Flowers in total 1.75 cm long. Median sepal reflexed, appressed to the ovary, elliptic, obtuse, convex, glabrous, 3-nerved, slightly over 0.7 cm long, 0.42 cm wide. Lateral sepals at the base slightly reflexed, above the base slightly obliquely incurved, pointing downwards, obliquely oblong, obtuse, obtusely apiculate, concave, margins incurved, 3-nerved, mid-rib dorsally near the apex rather prominent, 0.74 by 0.38 cm. Petals falcate-deflexed, pointing downwards, parallel with the lateral sepals, gradually dilated from the linear base, narrowly spathulate, broadly obtuse, with a short obtusely apiculate prolongation, convex, glabrous, 1-nerved, 0.65 cm long, at the apex 0.18 cm wide. Lip 3-lobed, spurred, 3-nerved, in the basal part for 0.3 cm adnate to the column, forming a laterally compressed, obconical, underneath in the apical part ventricose, inside villose tube, in front of the mouth of the tube with three, at their base transversely connate, glabrous calli, the outer calli laterally compressed, nearly semiorbicular, convex, the median callus longer, in front prolonged in a small, longitudinal, just above the base thickened rib running up to the sinus of the mid-lobe; lateral lobes deflexed, obliquely oblong-elliptic, obtuse, convex, to the front margin 0.4 cm long, 0.28-0.3 cm wide; mid-lobe porrect, making an acute angle with the lateral lobes, bilobulate, in outline rectangularly oblong, towards the apex somewhat dilated, convex, 0.4 cm long, at the base 0.24 cm wide, at the apex 0.37 cm wide, lobules obliquely oblong, obtuse, slightly divergent, 0.23 by 0.13 cm, in the sinus with a short obtuse apiculum; spur pointing backwards, making an angle with the tube, straight, somewhat raised, at the base slightly laterally compressed, above slightly dorsally compressed, obtuse, glabrous, inside pilose with backwards-pointing hairs, slightly over 1 cm long. Column along its entire length adnate to the lip, obliquely obconical, base somewhat contracted, at the apex obliquely truncate and wavy, in total 0.38 cm long, dorsally 0.2 cm long; clinandrium transverse, deeply concave, auricles triangular, obtuse, outside convex. Anther cucullate, abbreviated-ovate, 0.16 cm wide, at the apex shortly bidentate, teeth distant, acute. Pollinia 8, pear-shaped-clavate and oblong-obovoid. Stigma bilobed. Ovary pedicellate, strongly curved, clavate, 6-grooved, puberulous, 0.5 cm long, Pedicel sparsely puberulous, 0.5 cm long. (After Smith, 1915).
