Small. Tuber ovate, 0.8 cm long. Stem subterraneous, almost absent. Stem above the ground erect, 1.5 cm long, at the base covered with sheaths, one-leaved. Leaf horizontal, sessile, cordate, abruptly shortly acuminate, mucronate, at the base 5-nerved, midrib below towards the base somewhat prominent, 2.6 cm long, 2.15 cm wide. Inflorescence 1-flowered, peduncle 0.2 cm long, bracts erect, at the base lanceolate-triangular, long subulate-acuminate, concave, keeled, 1 cm long. Flower large. Median sepal erect, spathulate, apex incurved, rounded, concave, 11-nerved, keeled outside, undulate, 2.85 cm long, blade suborbicular, about 1 cm wide. Lateral sepals between the spurs incurved, porrect, small, slender subulate, 0.33 cm long. Petals similar to the lateral sepals, divaricate, incurved, 0.5 cm long, at the base 0.07 cm wide. Lip erect, clasping the column, funnel-shaped, tube laterally compressed, posterior margin straight, in front strongly ventricose-inflated, at the base with two thick, , obliquely conical, obtuse, backwards-pointing, 0.3 cm long spurs, above the base below the swelling strongly laterally constricted, 1.15 cm long, 0.73 cm high, blade recurved, rounded-reniform, apex conduplicate, minutely crenulate, inside acutely verruculose, about 1 cm wide. Column erect, very short, 0.24 cm long. Anther erect, truncate. Pollinia oblong. Stigma round, prominent. Ovary erect, somewhat curved, triangular, 6-ribbed, 0.5 cm long. Colours: Median sepal white with light purple longitudinal stripes, lip inside purple, on the blade in the basal part with purple stripes, in front with fine purple markings.

Habitat: Terrestrial in lowland forest. Altitude 0 m.

Flowering time in the wild: July.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
