Rhizome creeping, elongated, branched, bent, subterete, covered with distichous, tubular, acute, keeled sheaths that becoming larger towards the apex, the upper sheath to more than 3 cm long. Pseudobulbs very small, 1.3-2 cm apart, making an acute angle with the rhizome, obliquely ovoid, 0.55-0.6 by 0.4-0.33 cm, 1-leaved. Leaf erect, articulated, linear, 12.5-13.5 by 0.5 cm, acute, at the base conduplicate, mid-rib grooved above, keeled below; sheath conduplicate, 1.4-2.2 cm long. Inflorescence at the apex densely several-flowered; peduncle ancipitous, 10-11.75 cm long, near the middle 0.06-0.08 cm wide, at the apex dilated to 0.15-0.17 cm; rachis compressed, flexuose, at least 1.3 cm long, with pectinate bracts, 0.8 cm wide, internodes 0.1 cm long. Floral bracts distichous, patent, tightly conduplicate, in the basal part with dilated margins, acute, strongly keeled, dorsally curved, 0.48-0.55 cm long, the lower ones distinctly longer and narrower, 0.75 cm long. Flowers very small, opening in succession. Median sepal oblong, at the apex narrowed, 0.46 by 0.18 cm, obtusely apiculate, convex, with 3 closely spaced nerves, mid-rib dorsally thickened near the apex. Lateral sepals reflexed, obliquely ovate, 0.44 by 0.25 cm, shortly acuminate, convex, with 3 closely spaced nerves, mid-rib dorsally keeled especially near the apex. Petals obliquely erect, sublinear, towards the apex gradually somewhat dilated, broadly obtuse, convex, 1-nerved, slightly more than 0.4 cm long, at the apex 0.08 cm wide, at the base 0.05 cm wide. Lip at c. 1/4 above the base recurved, when not flattened c. 0.33 cm long and wide, when flattened c. 0.36 cm long, in the basal part 0.37 cm wide, in then apical part 0.23 cm wide; on either side in the bend with an inflated fold which is convex and rounded above, at the base with a large, erect, dorsally compressed, rounded-quadrangular, broadly obtuse, apiculate, in front minutely hollowed out callus which extends to the folds, in front of this with 2 very small rounded calli, lip in upper half contracted, at the apex recurved, transversely quadrangular, above on either side of the small and broad longitudinal channel convex and papillose, apex rounded, with a rather broad rounded apiculum. Column straight, 0.25 cm long, at the base 0.2 cm wide, in the basal part strongly winged-dilated, triangular, at the base truncate and on either side rounded, in the upper part long contracted, obtuse, dorsally with a thick keel, in front below the stigma with two wing-like, parallel, triangular, acute lamellae just below the stigma and with a longitudinal concave band below the stigma; clinandrium concave; stigma quadrangular. Anther cucullate, suborbicular, 0.07 cm diam. Pollinia 4, laterally compressed-pear-shaped. Ovary pedicellate, , 6-ribbed, 0.6 cm long. (After Smith, 1915)

Colours: Leaves light green. Flowers orange.

Habitat: Epiphyte on riverside trees in lowland forest; 400 m.

Flowering time in the wild: November.
