Capitulum terminal, nodding, 5-flowered. Lower bracts semi-elliptic, broad at the base, apex conduplicate-acuminate, concave, dorsally furfuraceous-finely punctate, 0.9 cm long and wide, upper ones gradually smaller. Flowers medium-sized, 0.93 cm long. Sepals and petals cohering with recurved apices. Median sepal adnate to the lateral sepals for 0.1 cm, ovate, shortly acuminate, obtuse, 0.63 cm long, 0.4 cm wide. Lateral sepals deeply connate along the inner margins, broadly obliquely ovate-triangular, acute or somewhat acuminate, apiculate, concave, 5-nerved, when flattened along the outer margin 0.6 cm long, to apex of the sac 0.7 cm long, free part 0.3 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, across the connate part 0.9 cm wide; mentum saccate, enveloping the spur of the lip, broad, rounded, forming an angle acute with the ovary, dorsally broadly channeled and near the apex somewhat convex-trilobulate, 0.35 cm long. Petals obliquely elliptic, acutely narrowed, narrowly obtuse, front margin obtusely angular, concave, 3-nerved, about 0.6 cm long, 0.34-0.38 cm wide. Lip at the base adnate to the column for scarcely 0.1 cm and to the column-foot, to the apex of the ovary 0.4 cm long, to the apex of the spur 0.53 cm long; blade porrect, somewhat surpassing the column, oblong-5-angled, apex obtusely angular, fleshy, in the basal part obtusely longitudinally channeled with convex sides, in apical part with a small, inconspicuous rib, papillose, 5-nerved, at the base produced into a conspicuous transverse, somewhat recurved crest, including the crest 0.25 cm long, 0.18 cm wide; spur forming an acute angle with the ovary, laterally compressed, ovate-obliquely rounded, to the apex of the ovary 0.4 cm long, 0.27 cm high. Column somewhat curved, dorsally convex, 0.3 cm long, clinandrium deeply hollow, triangular, apex triangular separated from the auricles by broadly rounded somewhat wavy, dentate sinuses, auricles obliquely triangular, subquadrangular, narrowly obtuse. Column-foot forming an acute angle with the ovary, 0.2 cm long. Anther cucullate, orbicular, 0.17 cm wide, apex hyaline-marginate, rounded, at the base retuse, connective at the base obtuse conical-thickened. Pollinia 4, strongly dorsally compressed, obliquely obovate, outside convex, inside longitudinally grooved, 0.07 cm long. Rostellum slightly surpassing the auricles, broad, truncate. Stigma prominent, semiorbicular, lower margin somewhat raised, rounded. Ovary subfusiform, 3-grooved, 0.5 cm long. (After Smith, 1929)
