Terrestrial. Stems branched, slender, somewhat compressed, leafy, internodes up to 1.3 cm long, 0.1 cm wide, those of the branches smaller. Leaves erect-patent, linear-subulate, apex strongly unequally bidentate, the shorter tooth acute, the longer tooth truncate, at the base shortly petiolate-contracted, above obtusely concave, below convex, 2.7-5.3 cm long, 0.23-0.25 cm, wide; sheaths tubular, in cross section elliptic, especially above finely longitudinally ribbed and verrucose, apical margins appressed crisped pale fimbriate. Inflorescence 1-flowered, with two bracts. Floral bracts equally long, clasping each other, the ovary and the spur, cucullate, tubular at the base, apiculate, veins dorsally prominent, especially the median one, sparsely furfuraceous-finely punctate, membranous, 0.95 cm long, inner bract thinner. Flowers medium-sized, thin-textured, 1.55 cm diam. Median sepal oblong, obtuse, subulate-apiculate, apiculum verruculose, at the base 3-nerved, 1.23 cm long, 0.43 cm wide. Lateral sepals at the base deeply connate, closely appressed to the spur of the lip, obliquely oblong, slightly falcate, obtuse, subulate-apiculate, at the base 4-nerved, 1.13 cm long, to the apex of the spur 1.28 cm long, connate part to the apex of the spur 0.5 cm long, above the base 0.45 cm wide; mentum appressed to the ovary, short, broadly retuse, dorsally saccate, 0.33 cm long, 0.28 cm wide. Petals broadly spathulate-obovate, rounded, at the base 3-nerved, 1.15 cm long, 0.73 cm wide. Lip small, at the base adnate to the column, cucullate-concave, apex recurved, indistinctly 3-lobed, shortly spurred, in total 0.6 cm long, lateral lobes erect, somewhat rounded, appressed to the column, blade at the base separated from the spur by a strong transverse ridge, when flattened transversely elliptic-ovate, acuminate, terminal lobule narrowly triangular, obtuse, inside with a small longitudinal rib, 0.35 cm long (from the ridge), 0.4 cm wide; spur pointing backwards, broad, on the sides in the basal part saccate, apex dilated, retuse, short and obtusely bilobulate, 0.33 cm long, apex 0.28 cm wide. Column contracted below the apex, dorsally convex, 0.2 cm long, clinandrium dentate, auricles oblong, their lower margin acuminate. Anther cucullate, transversely ovate, apex broadly rounded, recurved, at the base not conical-raised, 0.13 cm wide. Rostellum as long as the auricles of the column, subtruncate. Stigma obliquely funnel-shaped, lower margin strongly elongated, somewhat recurved. Ovary 6-grooved, glabrous, 0.7 cm long. (After Smith, 1913)

Habitat: Terrestrial in upper montane forest in shaded positions. Altitude 1800 m.
Flowering time in the wild: March.
