Terrestrial, shrubby. Stems, erect, branched, slender, terete, shiny, rooting, 30 cm long, internodes of the primary stem 2.5 cm long. Leaves distichous, small, lanceolate, at the base narrowed, above on either side of the median groove longitudinally convex, convex below, thick fleshy, rigid, 0.9-1.5 cm long, 0.23-0.28 cm wide, apex strongly unequally bidentate, the longer tooth obtuse or truncate; sheath tubular, verrucose, apex lacerate-fimbriate. Inflorescence terminal, recurved, widely patent, 1-flowered, with two convolute clasping bracts. Outer bract at the base tubular, acute, keeled, keel projecting beyond the apex, verruculose, membranous, 1.2 cm long; inner bract longer and thinner than outer one, obtuse, keeled at apex only, keel projecting beyond the apex, 1.43 cm long. Flower medium-sized, widely opening. Median sepal linear-lanceolate, shortly conical-apiculate, margin revolute, strongly convex, at the base 3-, above the base 7-nerved, 1.25 cm long, 0.28 cm wide. Lateral sepals at the base shortly connate, auriculate, clasping the spur at the base only, obliquely linear-lanceolate, obtuse, conical-apiculate, margin revolute, strongly convex, about 7-nerved, 1.23 cm long, about 0.3 cm wide. Petals reflexed, linear, obtuse, strongly convex, at the base 3-, above the base 5-nerved, 1.13 cm long, 0.15 cm wide. Lip very long spurred; blade long adnate to the column, concave, apex obtuse, papillose, fleshy, when flattened rhombic, in total 0.5 cm long, 0.36 cm wide, free part ovate; spur appressed to the ovary, enveloped by the bracts, cylindrical, slender, apex bidentate, 1.4-1.85 cm long, 0.08 cm diam. Column, except for the apex, adnate to the lip, dorsally convex, 0.35 cm long, clinandrium large, dentate, somewhat recurved. Anther cucullate, subreniform, apex broadly bilobed, depressed-conical, 0.13 cm wide. Pollinia 4, obovate. Rostellum large, semiorbicular, shortly bidentate. Stigma transverse, lower margin semiorbicular, shorter than the rostellum. Ovary somewhat sigmoid, 6-grooved, 1.4 cm long. (After Smith, 1911)
